About Dr. Jeff Williamson

A Life Spent Building
Community.

Three decades of leadership, coaching, speaking, and writing have led Jeff to one bedrock conviction: when people feel like they truly belong — to a team, a mission, a place — they become the best version of themselves.

His work is an invitation to stop settling for a room full of strangers and start building something that actually matters.

His Story

Where It All Began

Jeff didn't set out to be a keynote speaker or a business coach. He set out to understand people — what makes them come alive, what makes them shut down, and what happens when they finally find a place where they feel genuinely known.

Early in his career, Jeff worked in pastoral ministry and community development, where he discovered that the loneliness epidemic wasn't just a personal problem — it was an organizational one. Teams struggling with retention, cultures that felt cold, leaders who couldn't figure out why their people weren't engaged: almost always, the root was a lack of genuine belonging.

That discovery became his life's work. Over the next three decades, Jeff built his expertise at the intersection of human connection, personal strengths, and organizational health. He earned his doctorate, became a certified Gallup CliftonStrengths coach, launched Coach Mentor Guide, and has spoken to thousands of leaders across the country.

He wrote Joy Café to tell the story of what belonging can look like — warm, honest, and surprisingly simple once you know what to look for. His follow-up, The Power of 168, challenges readers to examine how they spend every one of the 168 hours in a week, and whether those hours reflect what they actually value.

Today, Jeff speaks at conferences, works with leadership teams, coaches executives one-on-one, and keeps looking for the next room where people need to feel like they matter. He lives with his wife in the midwest and is proudly close to his kids and grandkids — who, he'll tell you, are his best teachers.

What Drives Him

Jeff's core belief is simple enough to put on a coffee mug and deep enough to build an organization around: "People do their best work when they feel like they belong."

That conviction shapes every keynote, every coaching session, and every page he writes. He doesn't deliver motivational fluff — he offers a framework grounded in decades of real experience, backed by Gallup research, and delivered with the warmth of someone who genuinely cares whether it actually helps.

Areas of Focus

CliftonStrengths Coaching

As a certified Gallup coach, Jeff helps individuals and teams discover their natural talents and build on them. Strengths work isn't about fixing what's wrong — it's about doubling down on what's right.

Leadership Development

Through workshops, team retreats, and executive coaching, Jeff helps leaders build cultures where people actually want to stay — not because they have to, but because they feel they belong.
